At the beginning of each term, the International Student Orientation Team holds a mandatory orientation program for new international students. This program is designed to provide you with valuable information and facilitate your transition to OSU. By participating in the International Student Orientation, you will gain essential information about:
To cover the cost of orientation, all degree and exchange students will be charged an orientation fee of $30 (winter and spring terms) or $50 (fall term). This fee will be automatically charged to your OSU student account. Orientation fees for INTO OSU students are included in the fees for these programs.
Immigration document check-in is required for all incoming international and exchange students in all OSU and INTO OSU programs. This includes students who are transferring to OSU from another school in the US.
You can start this process early by filling out our online forms:
Once you are finished with this you should plan to arrive for the first day of orientation and attend the event “Immigration Document Check In.” During this check in we will review the online forms you submitted and your documents - please make sure to bring your I-20/DS-2019s, passport, and dependent documents with you.
All newly admitted international students are required to attend orientation and immigration document check-in. If you are not able to arrive in the US by the orientation date, please be sure to complete to online orientation module in Canvas. If you do not attend the immigration document check-in, the Office of International Services will place a hold on your registration. If you are unable to attend one or both of these sessions, please contact the International Student Orientation Team at Intl.Orientation@oregonstate.edu or call the Office of International Services at 541-737-6310.
Registering for classes is provided during START. Please visit the New Student Programs & Family Outreach page to register.
If you are a new international student, and you will be arriving to OSU on or after the first day of the term, please refer to the Late Arrivals Policy.
If you are a graduate student, please contact your graduate department for your class registration information.
If you are an exchange student, please email questions about registration to Tavia Mendez
