+ Location Description

Seoul is a city with over 2,000 years of history. Seoul has been the capital city of Korea for more than 600 years. Seoul is a city vibrant with tradition and history coexisting with the dynamic, cutting-edge technology of the 21st century. The city is carrying out diverse and dynamic implementation programs that were developed with consideration of the social and economic impact as well as a strong design infrastructure.

Seoul held Design Olympiad 2009, World Design Capital 2010, The UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference Seoul 2011 as well as Seoul was selected UNESCO as a creative City of Design in 2010. Seoul is now seeking to become a city with improved standards of creative culture and a city for the people in which design is a part of everyday life. Seoul is making efforts to transform the notion that design is a field exclusive to professional designers and artists to a concept that it is a creative activity in which anyone can participate.

+ Course Description

The study abroad program in Seoul will introduce an international unique experience, understanding of East-Asia cultures, and to enhance their problem solving capabilities through Art, Design, and culture in Seoul, Korea. Focuses will be placed on global design thinking and bridging the gap between Western and Eastern art.
