Jamie Schau is the IE3 Global Program Advisor for internships in the Latin America region. Her work supports program promotion, applicant assessment, in-country advisement, program and intern evaluation, and day-to-day management of the international internship programs. Jamie attained a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies in 2006 and a Master’s Degree in International Development and Nonprofit Management in 2011, both from the University of California, San Diego. She studied in Italy as an undergraduate and Chile as a graduate student, volunteered with a humanitarian organization at a Peruvian women’s prison and later volunteered with Kiva, where she led a team of 20+ international translators. In 2011, Jamie moved to northern Chile, where she coordinated a corporate exchange program, and later to Santiago where she remained until 2014, partnering in a start-up consulting firm doing social sustainability projects throughout Latin America. She speaks Spanish fluently and has expertise in international socio-economic development as well as international exchange programs.
