Thailand
Location:

With a metropolitan population of over 900,000, Chiang Mai has many amenities yet maintains a very approachable feel. It’s easy to get around and the people are generally friendly. As a point of intersecting cultures, Chiang Mai features a broad range of Thai, Asian and Western restaurants. Shopping options range from daily farmers’ markets and nightly crafts bazaars to upscale shopping malls.

The city's relaxed atmosphere brings many opportunities for U.S. students to get involved in life outside of campus. Previous students have enrolled in local kickboxing clubs, volunteered at area schools, and helped at local non-profit organizations. The city’s natural setting offers a number of outdoor activities including hiking and a range of sports clubs.”
