University College Cork
The UCC campus is a ten-minute walk from the city center, and has a number of historic buildings, including its original quadrangle, built in 1845. It is a compact and beautiful complex, with gardens, riverside paths, and numerous places to study and relax. The university has a commitment to sustainability and staff and students work together to develop a “green footprint”. UCC is very welcoming to international students from the US and all over the world, and has a full program of orientation events to help students settle in and feel at home. Clubs and other activities allow US students to integrate with their Irish counterparts, and become part of the social life of the university.
The University College Cork (UCC) program is ideal for students in diverse majors as students may enroll in a wide variety of regular university classes in majors including sciences and engineering, social sciences, Celtic studies, humanities and languages. Early Start: Students can attend a late summer program of intensive study before the Autumn semester, focused on an aspect of Ireland’s archaeology, history or culture. These add additional credits to the semester. Following this program, you will select courses for the semester that complement your Early Start module. Please contact your campus advisor if you wish to add this option to your semester in Ireland.
