It is no wonder that Ireland is often referred to as the Emerald Isle. From the lush, green, rolling hills of the countryside to the dramatic coastal scenery that borders its shores, this small island nation is truly a gem. The capital city of Dublin is a bustling and vibrant walk through time. Strolling the city's streets, students witness a collision of Georgian architecture and Gaelic history with modern art, music, and urban culture. From the contemporary, creative Temple Bar neighborhood to the traditional folk song-singing pubs of the West Coast, Ireland offers summer program participants the opportunity of a lifetime.
Minimum 2.5 GPA
This summer program is designed for students who want to immerse themselves in cinema studies in Ireland. Students will get to work both critically and creatively, taking courses on contemporary Irish cinema and digital filmmaking, as well as attending Ireland’s largest film festival held every year in Galway. Weekly excursions and local outings in and around Dublin and the Irish countryside allow students to learn on location about the country’s rich film history and explore the sites where important historical events, and films about those events, took place.
