Step 2: Essay Responses

Write two essay responses answering the following prompts:

  1. Please write a brief bio about yourself highlighting your international experience and describing your financial need. Please note that ICSP is a merit-based scholarship. Financial need will be taken into consideration for the scholarship, but will not be the primary reason for selection.
  2. What will you do to share your culture in your academic college or on campus at OSU. What are some of the successful experience that you have had sharing cultures?

Step 3: Video

Choose a cultural topic and make a short, two-minute video. The video could be either about your hometown/country or another country you have visited including US. The topic is up to you, however, you should consider a unique cultural aspect that is not easily found on the internet.

We strongly encourage you to use your own pictures, and video clips as the ICSP Committee will be looking for originality, creativity and authenticity in your work. We want to learn and see the world from your lens and ultimately learn about you. You could add music and your voice to make it more of your own. Please make sure you include your full name in the video, so the ICSP Committee can identify who created video.

Once it is completed, please upload the video to YouTube by following the steps below:

  1. Go to YouTube and sign in: if you are currently studying at OSU, you can sign in with your ONID username and password; if you are new and haven’t set up your ONID account, please create a YouTube account with your personal email.
  2. Once you are signed in, find the "Upload" button in the upper right corner of your browser window and select it.
  3. Upload your video.
