Some of the scholarships listed will be automatically considered for every new OSU application, but many scholarships require the student to find and apply independently. We've compiled a list of resources that you should look into for more funding options.

Degree-Seeking OSU Scholarships

OSU Provost's International Scholarship

Competitive scholarships are offered to exceptional international students. Award amounts vary and are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study if renewal requirements are met. No separate scholarship application is required.

OSU International Cultural Service Program

The International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) began at OSU in 1983 and offers scholarships to international students in exchange for helping their academic college internationalize. Recipients will act as ambassadors for their countries and participate in cultural awareness-building activities.

This comprehensive application covers the Tuition Remission Scholarship for International Students (TRSIS), Strickland, Cook. Lim, and Niemi scholarships. While comprised of several scholarships, this collection requires just one application.

Ali & Shahina Piyarali International Program Scholarship

Generous patrons of Oregon State University International Programs provide scholarships to select study abroad and international internship participants and international students, both graduate and undergraduate, based on academic promise and financial need.

Amount

Typically $500, may vary up to $1,000 per year.

The OSU International Student Entrepreneur's Scholarship will be awarded to new direct international MBA students who show great leadership and entrepreneurship skills as well as a passion for business

Undergraduate Student Research Awards

The Oregon State University Libraries is pleased to announce the second annual Undergraduate Library Research Award. This award recognizes and rewards OSU undergraduate students who, through the comprehensive use of the OSU Libraries, demonstrate outstanding research, scholarship, and originality in writing a paper or completing a project. There will be two awards; $1000 scholarship awarded to an upper division undergraduate and $1000 scholarship awarded to a lower division undergraduate from Oregon State University.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as a student (full or part-time) at Oregon State University in any discipline (including all branch and e-campus students)
  • Have completed a research project for a credit course at OSU during the Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall terms of 2015.  A project may be in any format or medium
  • Individual or group projects are eligible
  • Awards are given as scholarships, with funds applied directly to the students’ OSU billing account. Therefore the winning students MUST be enrolled at OSU at the time of the award
  • Agree to contribute their papers or projects to the permanent archives of the Oregon State University Libraries
Clara Simerville Award

The Clara Simerville Award is given each year to an OSU undergraduate student who has voluntarily contributed to international understanding through personal relationships, scholarship and research, and involvement in campus or community organizations supporting international understanding. Dr. Simerville, Professor Emeritus of International Education and Foreign Student Counselor from 1955-1970, firmly believed in international education and the necessity for cross-cultural understanding in our independent world. She worked diligently to assist OSU students, faculty and staff in understanding other cultures. Students may be nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators or members of the Corvallis community. Selection will be made by a committee and the award will be presented at the Student Recognition and Awards Banquet in May.

Awardees receive $100 and have their name engraved on a plaque in International Programs.

Requirements

The Clara Simerville Award is given to an OSU undergraduate student who has voluntarily contributed to international understanding through personal relationships, scholarship and research, and involvement in campus or community organizations supporting international understanding.

Nominations are accepted each Spring term for the Clara L. INTO OSU Honorary Scholarship

Our former colleagues, Ian Sanders and Nancy Heiligman, both demonstrated tremendous commitment, leadership, and dedication to the establishment of INTO Oregon State University. In their honor, it is INTO OSU’s pleasure to award scholarships to students exhibiting this same kind of leadership, commitment, and dedication to pursuits in higher education.

INTO OSU Continued Success Scholarship

The INTO OSU Continued Success Scholarship helps students finance studies in a full OSU graduate or undergraduate program after a Pathway program. Regardless of academic performance prior to the Pathway, this scholarship allows students to start anew and earn recognition for performing well in the US. This applies only to the year immediately following a Pathway program.

Requirements

  • 3.75 overall GPA during Pathway
  • Meet all progression requirements after a Pathway program
  • Fully admitted to an OSU program
  • Completed the Pathway Program in 3 terms and met all progression requirements by the end of third term
  • Students must have met all progression requirements in three terms of Pathway and be fully admitted to OSU by the end of the same month that they finished the Pathway program (for example, before the end of June for those finishing in the spring term) and have no outstanding items left to meet for full OSU admission before the end of the Pathway program(including, but not limited to GMAT, GRE, TOEFL scores, and other requirements)
  • INTO OSU reserves the right to make final decisions regarding scholarship eligibility

Students may also qualify for scholarships based on their major or college within the university. OSU Opportunity Scholarships Awarded by the Benton Community Foundation

Benton County, where OSU is located, offers several scholarships for international students:

  • The Joel R. Friend Scholarship is available to students from Thailand and Taiwan
  • The Lucy Hsu Ho Scholarship is available to students from China
  • The Hugh & Helen Wood Nepalese Scholarship is available to students from Nepal
